North Metro Pediatrics, a prevention-focused pediatric clinic in Coon Rapids, MN, is excited to announce a new partnership with HOPE 4 Youth, an Anoka-based homeless youth drop-in center.
Beginning today, September 17, North Metro Pediatrics will position clinical staff at HOPE 4 Youth one day per month to provide preventative health services to their clients. The available services will include well child checks, immunizations, developmental screening and behavioral health screening.
“We’re excited to partner with HOPE 4 Youth to connect children of youth they serve to high quality, accessible healthcare. These youth encounter challenges accessing care in traditional settings where they need to arrange appointments and secure transportation, so we decided the best way to enable access is to bring the care to them where they already are,” explains North Metro Pediatrics’ Executive Director, Jeff Lundgren.
“Partnerships are critical at HOPE 4 Youth. Homeless young people come to us with so many needs and we can’t possibly do it all, so we partner with others whenever possible, rather than duplicating services in our community. The new partnership with our HOPE 4 New Moms program and North Metro Pediatrics will change the lives of the young children of many of the youth we serve. We are grateful to them for making time to deliver their programming within our walls, as transportation keeps youth from needed services such as this,” explains Hope 4 Youth President and CEO, Lisa Jacobson.
