North Metro Pediatrics Receives $2,000 Grant from Coon Rapids Rotary
Coon Rapids, MN (April 2, 2018) - North Metro Pediatrics is pleased to announce it has received a $2,000 grant from the Coon Rapids Rotary. These funds will support the clinic in providing preventative and comprehensive medical services, including mental and dental health visits through our two new community partnerships with Lee Carlson Center for Mental Health and Well-Being and Apple Tree Dental.
In addition, the grant dollars will also go towards the sports-entrance physicals North Metro Pediatrics provides for uninsured students at Fridley High School, prior to the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
"It means a great deal to have this support from local businesses in the Coon Rapids area," explains Jeff Lundgren, executive director of North Metro Pediatrics. "Our goal is to help more uninsured and under-insured children have access to quality and affordable preventative health care so they have a fair chance to lead a productive and successful life. This support enables us to help more children do just that."
About North Metro Pediatrics
North Metro Pediatrics' mission is to improve the health and well-being of underserved children in their community by providing access to quality and affordable pediatric care focused on prevention. As the only sliding fee clinic in Anoka County, atients are never turned away due to an inability to pay and are never sent to a collections agency. Their affordable and accessible preventative pediatric health care services are available for children from birth to age 21, five days per week. They strongly believe that access to quality healthcare directly relates to a child’s ability to be successful, which is why they perform all available screenings and their average patient visit is approximately 40 minutes.
