Connie Blackwell - Co-Founder, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Connie, a certified nurse practitioner, co-founded North Metro Pediatrics in 2005 and has been heart and soul of the organization’s mission since then. As a Registered Nurse she worked in Hospital Neonatal and ER units. She then worked with Aspen Medical group in Triage nursing and in the Urgent care. In 2002 she received her Masters Degree from St. Kate's and was certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Shortly after, she co-founded this clinic and has applied her experiences from over 30 years in Pediatric Nursing to build a model of care centered around Prevention and Educating families.
Tim Bredow - Family Nurse Practitioner
Tim has been a nurse for 40+ years working in Public Health, research and teaching at the university level. He has been with North Metro Pediatrics since nearly it's beginning, working part time, while the rest of the week he teaches nursing students at Bethel University. He really enjoys the children that come in for Well Child Checks and helping the sick ones feel better as well as the extra time we spend with families at our visits and getting to know them on a more personal level.
Cheri Friedrich - Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Cheri received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Masters of Science, and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, all from the University of Minnesota. She completed her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification from the College of St. Catherine and she is also a certified lactation consultant. Currently Cheri teaches in the pediatric nurse practitioner area of study at the University of Minnesota and she has maintained a clinical practice for the past 20+ years. She joined the wonderful interprofessional care team at North Metro Pediatrics in 2011. She loves caring for kids and their families from infancy to young adulthood, and the extended time for patient visits at North Metro Pediatrics allows for meaningful and personalized care.
Laura Hurrins - Registered Nurse
Laura joined the team at North Metro in 2012 and is now an integral part our Health Care Home program acting as Care coordinator. In this role she helps families navigate systems of care including coordinating with school, specialists, and other family resources. She is also a trained asthma educator. The positive relationships she builds with the families seen here at NMP is something very dear to her heart.
Kris Ziebarth - Receptionist
Kris joined North Metro Pediatrics in August 2016 as a receptionist.
She has worked alongside North Metro Pediatrics for the past 12 years and has a extensive history with working with children and their families.
Jeff Lundgren - Executive Director
Jeff joined the North Metro team in January 2017 taking over leadership of the clinic. He is a former member of the Board of Directors (2007 – 2010) and helped get the first annual golf tournament off the ground. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with an Emphasis in Entrepreneurship from St. Cloud State University, and spent over 9 years in Customer Solutions and Supply Chain for General Mills before joining the team. His favorite thing about working for North Metro is knowing we make a difference in the lives of our families and hearing children call the staff members by name.
Barb Hoglund - Family Nurse Practitioner
Barb Hoglund, a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) since 1996, joined North Metro Pediatrics in 2007. Barb enjoys seeing children of all ages for well-child visits, acute and chronic illness care, sports physicals, and common mental health concerns. She was instrumental in developing North Metro Pediatric’s ability to care for children and adolescents with uncomplicated ADHD, anxiety, and depression – kids who often find good medication management for these concerns lacking in other clinical settings. She is also a seasoned nurse educator and holds a doctorate in higher education with expertise in curriculum development; Barb has taught nursing at Metropolitan State University and Bethel University for many years.
Nicole DuBose - Medical Assistant
Nicole has been with North Metro since 2010 and has been a Medical Assistant since 2002. Nicole loves working with the great team of providers at North Metro. Away from work she stays busy with her three teenage daughters and enjoys traveling when she has a chance.
Peggy Skinner - Medical Assistant
Peggy joined the team at North Metro Pediatrics in the Spring of 2016 as a Medical Assistant and billing specialist. She wanted to join a team that took great care of children and families. In her down time she enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also loves gardening, knitting, quilting and photography
Kelly Wallen - Receptionist
Kelly loves working in a clinic where our families are not just an impersonal number in a system and we can really get to know them. Kelly enjoys a good book, a cup of tea and a kitty on her lap.
